Brilrider™ – Branding, Packaging & Ad
The moment we saw the brilrider™, we were instantly drawn to it’s super-cool, sporty form and BMX-style design. We realized that the product was so attractive and unique, that it did not require props or unnecessary embellishments to attract customers. Also, this product has never been sold in the country before, making novelty an added advantage. Keeping this in mind, Aglet Design™ came up with this beautifully simplistic packaging design, that showcases the key features of this product without any distractions, clearly defining the hero. The logo again, was designed using the same custom font that was developed at Aglet Design™ for all the new Bril® products. While the word “bril” remains untouched to maintian uniformity across products, the word “rider” was subtly modified to suit this product. We made it slightly oblique to add a sense of speed and dynamism and added the dual dots over the “i”, to symbolise wheels.
The product shoot for this design was also done at the Aglet Photo Studio. The behind-the-scenes images are evidence enough that we had a blast shooting the brilrider™, and I even learnt to fly! We actually suspended the bike from a boom arm to get a nice level view point and an even single tone background that could easily be knocked out in post. The Octabank on the left was the main light, which was fired almost directly to produce an even, soft illumination. The strip bank on the right however, was skimmed across the brilrider™ at a lower power to add the beautiful highlights on the glossy surface and really sculpt the form.
